Special Adviser to Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Youth and Sports, Aremo Gboyega Adelabu has praised the resilient spirit of Osun Babes as they won their opening encounter in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State against Ibom Angels.
A 67th minute strike by Yemisi Samuel gave the ‘Omoluabi Queens’ a resounding lone goal victory in the mouth-watering encounter to coast home the maximum points of the game.
The Governor’s Aide also lauded the management of the club for their courage and perseverance which yielded the results for them.
“This is a sweet victory not only for the team but for the entire soccer loving fans in our dear state. For the ladies to have won away from home in the Nigerian league where such victory is rare, shows the quality and determination of the team which is highly commendable. I therefore congratulate the players, the technical and coaching crew as well as fans and supporters who have been giving the team both moral and financial support.
“I want to assure you that the Ministry is solidly behind you as we are working assiduously to overcome the teething challenges as soon as possible so that you can be able to keep up the momentum,” assured Aremo Adelabu.
Osun Babes will again be on the road in their next match as they will be guests to FC Robo of Lagos in the week two fixtures holding on Wednesday, next week.
