Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Lekki Branch Pastor Tobi Popoola has showered encomiums on the sponsor of Ilechukwu Grassroot Football Tournament, Fidelis Ilechukwu.
The Ilechukwu Football Tourney is a pet project of former MFM FC of Lagos gaffer and now Plateau United Technical Adviser.
An elated Pastor Popoola who hosted Ilechukwu and his associates when they paid him a courtesy visit at the church in Lekki said: “The Ilechukwu Football Tourney project needs all our support as it will help curb social vices in the society and make our youths responsible to themselves and the country at large.
“I pray God to give you the wisdom as you grow in your career, increase your strength in the new challenge at Plateau United and above be successful at the club.
” I also want to be part of the project in the next edition as I promise that it will be better than the last.”
Camara who couldn’t hide his joy, thanked Popoola for his kind gesture as he prayed to continue to bless the MFM Pastor.
“Pastor Popoola is a special person to me and I can not stop thanking him for all he has done to me over the years.
“This is my small way of giving back to the youths whom I so much believe in.
Grassroot football is the bedrock of our football.
” The Ilechukwu Football Tourney has come to stay and come next edition, we hope to introduce the U-15 and U-18 category to the championship.”
36 Lion were crowned champions of this year’s edition after they beat Bamise God 3-0 in a thrilling penalty shoot-out after the game ended 1-1 at full-time at the Abete Playing Ground, Iwaya Sabo-Yaba.
