The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced a 30-man squad for the Super Eagles B team as preparations intensify for the crucial 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying ties against Ghana. Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen’s squad features standout performers from the NPFL, reflecting a strong intent to secure a place in the 2025 tournament in East Africa.

Kano Pillars’ Rabiu Ali, with eight goals this season, headlines the list, joined by the dependable Kayode Bankole (Remo Stars) and Rivers United’s Steven Mayo. Rising stars like Enyimba’s Henry Ozoemena and Rangers International’s Kazeem Ogunleye are also set to showcase their talents. “We are focused on assembling the best to secure victory against Ghana,” Eguavoen stated.

The team will begin camping at the Remo Stars Sports Institute, Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, on December 4. Their ultimate aim is to break the jinx of past eliminations by the Black Stars, who halted Nigeria’s CHAN ambitions in 2009 and 2023. First-leg action takes place on December 22 in Accra, with the decisive return leg slated for December 28 in Uyo.

Eguavoen’s lineup promises balance, featuring proven veterans and dynamic young players eager to rewrite history. With a robust preparation plan, Nigeria seeks to claim victory and secure a spot in the February 2025 CHAN finals hosted jointly by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
