Gbenga Ogunbote, Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), expressed relief after his side secured their first away victory of the season with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sunshine Stars in Ikenne last Saturday.

In a post-match interview, Ogunbote highlighted the significance of earning points in the three fiercely contested Southwest derbies, calling it a pivotal moment for the team:
“This victory is a big relief, having toiled for so many games. This is the third derby we have played; it would have been suicidal if we couldn’t take a point out of the three derbies. I’m really happy that it finally happened—we worked for it and deservedly got it,” he said.

The coach, fondly known as “The Oracle,” commended his players for their dedication and fighting spirit:
“The players gave it their all, they fought to keep the goal and ensure the victory was achieved. It was a good one for us.”

Looking ahead to 3SC’s next fixture against Kano Pillars, Ogunbote emphasized the need to maintain focus and secure maximum points at home:
“That’s another game. This match is done and won’t come again until the second round. We now shift our focus to the next game. All we need to do is give our best and ensure maximum points at home. Maximum points will keep us a little bit comfortable.”
