Coach Edith Agoye popularly known as Eshin says its time to get it right having failed to get the Oluyole warriors the Premier league ticket last season.

“We are focus on our target this season and by his grace we will deliver the ticket to the fans”

But what a start it was for Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan as they kicked off their promotion quest on a superb form beating Go Round FC of Omoku 3-0 at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Adamasingba on opening day of the new Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

This, 3SC did in superb form as the duo of Fatai Gbadamosi and Opeoluwa Olufemi were on the goals scorers sheet.

Gbadamosi, a former junior international scored a screamer in the first half while Olufemi stole the evening with a a second half brace.

Gbadamosi, who incidentally scored 3SC’s first goal last season, when the team was held to a 1-1 draw by Abia Comets, repeated that feat after his shot from 18yards beat former Flying Eagles goalkeeper Oremade Olawale who was in goal for Go Round FC in the 16th minute.

In the 67th minute, energetic striker, Gafar Olafimihan, found his way through Go Round defence before his low square play was well connected home by Opeoluwa Olufemi to make it 2-0.

The visitor had a goal which was disallowed by the AR1 and the center Referee in which the resulting counter attack by the 3SC players made it three nil

Olufemi, the team’ s top scorer last season, got a double and 3SC’s third goal, arriving on time to score off a pull out from Olafimihan.

“It was a difficult game irrespective of the 3-0 scoreline, Go Round FC were are a good side as they had physical presence and not bad technically.”

Describing Gbadamosi’ s stunning strike, Agoye said: “It was a superb strike from Gbadamosi, he has shown the quality player he has become having been with the U-23 team (Olympic Eagles).

His presence in my team is big boost so I expect more goals from him this season.”

3SC will be guest to Abia Comets on MatchDay 2 of the NNL season.
