Following his outstanding victory over Masvidal through a unanimous points decision, in his Welterweight title defence at UFC 251, Kamaru Usman is committed to appearing on stage to exhibit his athletic prowess once again against the unrepentant Gamebred fighter ‘Masvidal’.
Although, critical assessment of the match reveals how impromptu the show was organized which saw Masvidal immediately flew to Abou-Dhabi from Vegas one week away to the showdown in which many sports lovers, and analysts considered as too short a notice with his name placed on the match cards to face the ‘undisputed ‘ Welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman.
According to ESPN MMA, ‘the duo spoke about running it back in the future’ and this time around, there should be no excuse about deciding who the better man is.
Masvidal desperately wants to lay his hands on the UFC welterweight gold and the only way to achieve that is to get past Usman as sources revealed he asserted “I know I’m better than Usman and I want to prove it. I want to fight again. I’m not going to take nothing from him; he won the first one. Let’s do it again”.
Usman would be highly delighted to prove his first victory against him was not a fluke or a Phyrric victory as the rematch would be announced in coming weeks.
