Nigeria champions, Plateau United, say they are not leaving anything to chance in their bid to grind out a healthy win against Simba FC, Tanzania, next weekend, Orient Sports reports.
United will welcome Simba in the first leg preliminary round match of the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League.
The two time Nigeria Professional Football League title winners are studying every bit of information about the Tanzanian giants and head coach, Abdul Maikaba says they are also in possession of video clips of Simba FC past matches.
“We’ve video clips of Simba matches and we are studying them carefully”, Maikaba informs. .
“We know they are a strong team. So, we are studying the videos so that we would be able to have an idea of how they play so that we would be able to come up with a counter strategy to dislodge them”.
Plateau United were active in the concluded transfer market in a bold move to refresh their squad.
But Maikaba believes Plateau Utd draw inspiration from their policy of continuity.
“We retained a large proportion of our last season’s team.
“We believe in continuity. It makes the team better but that does not mean we don’t have to bring in some players to fortify the team in areas of need.
“We did that and it showed in our improved performance in the (Gov Ikpeazu) competition”.
