The Oyo State Football Association Chairman Oba James Odeniran the Alakinyele of Akinyele praised the sport living governor of the state Engr Seyi Makinde for his immense supports towards sports in the state most especially football.
In his interview with www.goalintense.com.ng correspondence, the chairman said he can’t speak less of the Governor for his tremendous work in the state.
“This is what we have been praying for that we should have a sport living governor and God has accepted our prayers. He has assisted the state as a whole to bring back the glory of the state as the pace setter. He gave us an international standard stadium which can host lots of competitions and even host the super Eagles.
He did not only support the football sector but all the sports in general as he has rewarded those who participated in the just-concluded national sports festival their cash reward as promised.
In the same vein, Shooting Stars will be playing their home games at the rebranded Lekan Salami Stadium and he has promised the Football lovers that there will be night football again at the stadium.
GSM Preseason tournament has fulfilled its mission as we can see that there is no underdog in football again. So many non league clubs are giving the big wigs the run for their money.
The organization and the level of professionalism are quite good though there is still room for improvement which I believe will be looked into as against next year.
