The leadership and management of Football Coaches Asssociation of African Nations (FCAAN) has congratulated the Flying Eagles of Nigeria on their recent victory in Niamey, Niger Republic where they picked one of the two tickets for the U-20 Nations cup proper and claimed King of African Football U-20 category.
The president of the football education body Dr.Terry Babatunde Eguaoje described the U-20’s Team acheivement as a great one.He said the opposition the team conquered are teams with great pedigrees especially African champion in the category who are also world champions Ghana,whom the Flying Eagles defeated in the opening match of the tournament and are arch rival Cote D’Ivoire also beaten in the semi final.
“Playing and sentencing teams like Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire is really highly commendable and a job well done”
Dr.Terry also commended Ladan Bosso led technical crew for defiling all odds to win the tourney, in spite of the relatively short time to prepare the team. He also said the selection which also saw Academy players in the squad shows that the coach must have done a great work scouting the talents and blending the right mix.
In his own words the Global Technical Director of FCAAN Eldred Sunju-Abbey said the acheivement is very worthy and commended them for taking every match as a cup final which gave them victory.
“Truly impressed with the Technical crew calling the right play and the boys giving their bloods and sweats in every game, the impetus need”.
He urged the team not to relent on their oars and ensure that they pick a ticket for the world cup at the African championship.
They also commended the leadership of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) for the enabling atmosphere.
FCAAN is the largest football coaching education body in Africa and will always celebrate the acheivement of Nigerian coaches and all the country’s National teams.
