A victory like this builds confidence in the team – Stanley Eguma

Rivers United FC head coach, Stanley Eguma was impressed with the performance of his team during a slight home victory against Ottasolo FC of Lagos during the Governor Wike Preseason Tournament in Rivers State.

The game ended 1- 0 in favour of the homers through a controversial penalty that was given by the referee after Ottasolo striker, Ebenezer Odeyemi slot in a rebound which was disallowed at the hit of the game.

In the Coach’s reaction, he said he is satisfied with his boys’ performance though it is still work in progress and he hopes that this competition will assist him to build a more formidable team before the CAFCC and the NPFL league opener against Rangers Internation.

“A victory like this builds confidence in the team and it’s a continuous improvement on the team and I believe the competition will help build a formidable team.”

“Rivers United is confident to see through their Equitorial guinea counterpart Futeriou Kings in the CAF Confederation Cup when they meet them at Addis Ababa.”

“The way we are working hard I believe we will get it right and it also helps us when we meet Rangers Internation of Enugu during the league opening match here in Portharcourt.”

Rivers United will play in the matchday 6 fixtures against Akwa United on Tuesday (Today) at the Sharks Stadium in Rivers State.
