Crown Football Club held Word Of Life Football Club to a one goal apiece in the match day three(3) Group B4 fixtures of the Nigeria National League (NNL) in the Southern Conference.

The dramatic encounter that was played at the Oghara Township Stadium in Delta State saw the Ajilete Warriors display good and matured game with Chibuike Nwankwo and Adeyemi Adeyeye posing a serious threat to the defense line of the Bible Believers Side from the start of the game to the end.

Adeyemi Adeyeye’s early goal in the nineth (9th) minute from the host stopper, Rhiogbere Tejiri’s blunder was denied by the centre referee.

The Bible Believers Side as well got chances and attempts at goal in the early minutes into the game but goal keeper and Captain for the Ajilete Warriors,Adeniyi Adejare, was fantastically calculative enough to disallow any ball into the net with his saves that gave him standing ovations by the spectators.

The Ajilete Warriors continued to pressurize the homers until the last minute in the added time when Adeyemi Adeyeye’s left footed shot at a close range from Chibuike Nwankwo’s pass went pass Rhiogbere Tejiri to silent the home supporters from drumming.

The first stanza ended one nil in favour of Crown FC.

The Oyekale tutored lads not minding the heavy wind that was returning balls to their half , continued with their one touch pattern of play but occasionally locating the lanky Ahmed Yahya and Obinna Christopher at the flanks to move the ball with their sharp bends and speed to the Polycal Preye’s mentored half.

The host team levelled up in the fifty nineth (59th) minute when Anyawu Ugo’s shot from Ogah Collin’s cross found the back of the net.

It was very dramatic and unprofessional on the part of the officials as Ozichi Chibueze spotting jersey number 33 for Word Of Life FC was issued two (2) yellow cards in the game instead of a red card when he committed the second bookable offence.

The host team substituted Nwoha Kelvin and Joel Marc for Johnson Festus and Jephter Ebiegbonja while Crown FC brought out the duo of Obinna Christopher and Ahmed Yahya for Odudu Sunday and Bode Daniel respectively.

Crown FC’s Adeyemi Adeyeye narrowly missed a header that would have increased the tally for the guest in the last minute of the five minute (5) added time.

Oladunni Oyekale, Crown FC’s gaffer while speaking with newsmen after the game said” I appreciate God for the outcome of the game. I thank my boys for putting up a good fight though I expected a win .Very painful. We will go home and restrategise ahead of our next home game”.

Crown FC will play their next Group B4 Week 4 game on Sunday 5th May, 2019 at the Soun Township Stadium in Ogbomoso.
