the President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation Daniel Igali was said to have placed a bet on Odunayo Adekuoroye with the other Federation president before the Final game held in Rome.
This was stated by the Gold medalist herself during an interview with the media team of NWF.
“Daniel Igali (NWF president) was so sure Odunayo Adekuoroye would win GOLD, staking a bet to back it up: “before the match, my president & one other president had a bet that I’d maybe lose to (Anshu). So, I told him to keep calm…I’m happy to make him proud” she told @wrestling.
We may recall that the former world no 1 wrestler for knocking out her opponent Indian Anshu Anshu 10-0 via technical superiority to clinch the gold in that category and her counterpart Oborududu Blessing won the bronze in the 68kg category of the competition.
