Delta FA plans stakeholders’ parley towards sustainable grassroots development

    The new board of the Delta State Football Association, under the leadership of the chairman, Edema Fuludu, had their first board meeting at the Football House in Asaba, at the Patrick Okpomo Secretariat.

    In the meeting attended by the vice chairman, Victor Ikpeba, and other members, which include: Chukwuma Ochonogor, Julius Ijeh, Prof Emmanuel Okocha (Members) Stanley Orukpe (Secretary), it was agreed that, the DFA in another few weeks will be convening a Stakeholders meeting to chart a part towards a sustainable grassroots football development in Delta State.

    It was also declared that, the DFA is open to grassroot football sponsorship but will allow those who are willing to abide by Association football guidelines.

    The DFA used the opportunity of the board meeting to announce officially the dismissal of the former DFA Secretary, Mr. Azuka Ogosi, for anti association activities.

    The DFA board officially presented the new DFA Secretary, Mr. Stanley Orukpe, to the public. Adding that, any person parading himself as secretary or acting secretary of the DFA not known to the board will have the law to contend with.

    The DFA congratulated the Nigeria Football Federation and the Super Eagles in their qualification for the semi finals stage of Total AFCON in Egypt and pray for the team to lift the cup to the glory of God and fatherland.

    The Delta Football Association felicitates with the indefatigable and sports loving governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his 60th birthday celebrations and wish him many more years of fruitfulness and a successful 2nd term in office.

    The DFA board member who were absent with excuse from the meeting include: Ejiro Femi-Babafemi, Julius Atete, Sheriff Mulade and Ambassador Mercy Alakis Awhana.
