The Shehu Dikko Novelty Match is shaping up to be a grand celebration of Nigerian sports, with an impressive lineup of former Super Eagles stars confirming their participation. Scheduled for December 4, 2024, at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, the match honors Shehu Dikko’s appointment as Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC).
Victor Ikpeba, the iconic “Prince of Monaco” and former African Footballer of the Year, will lead the roster of ex-internationals. He will be joined by football legends Daniel Amokachi, Samson Siasia, Mutiu Adepoju, and Garba Lawal, among others.
Reflecting on the event, Ikpeba stated:
“It is a privilege to honor Shehu Dikko and the incredible strides Nigerian sports are making. With technocrats like Dikko as Chairman and Bukola Olopade as Director General, Nigerian sports is in capable hands. The President made the right choice.”
