The days of 19th to 23rd of December have been earmarked for the maiden edition of Anambra Football Kiddies Camp with Maureen Mmadu. An event mapped out for only female kids between the age bracket of 10-15 years. According to the former super falcon’s assistant coach, Mmadu, it will be an event like no other.
“To me, it is much as giving back to the society as it is my passion to see the next Super Falcons’ star come out of Anambra state. You see, when you marry those two motivational factors, you will understand why this event is one like no other. It will be fun, educative, informative and interesting”
The most capped female player in the history of Women’s National team of Nigeria went further to explain that she had this type of program at Norwegian female football club called Avaldsnes.
“This is a program I did while I was in Norway. The club I played for and eventually coached, Avaldsnes do on periodic occasions appoint me to do the program for them. I got the experience and the program currently is bearing fruits for the club,”
The Ambassador of Female Football in Anambra state cleared the air on the monetary registration mode.
“Honestly, I would have made it an open summer camp. But then again, I don’t think a lot of parents will value it at that, the money first of all is to get commitment on the part of the parents. These kids will get a branded backpack, set of jerseys, boots, training kits, medal/certificate of participation, feeding, accommodation among numerous others. You see with all these in mind you will understand that #5,000 is the most moderate in terms of monetary registration as it can get”
The event will come up on the 19th-23rd of December and it will happen at Anglican Girls’Secondary School, Onitsha.
