” Veteran coach Ganiyu Salami Lauds FCAAN curriculum”
Playing round cities of Ghana and Nigeria made me a household name but winning two Nations cup with Black stars in 1963 and 65 as well as the opportunity to represent my country of birth thereafter the Green Eagles of Nigeria were exciting and memorable.
More exciting is having the opportunity to coach in four countries where I was able to impact knowledge into the generation next after us.
Those were the voice of legendary Ganiyu Salami one of African football greats who had opportunity of representing two countries, Coach Ganiyu Salami is one of FCAAN’s Ambassadors and was present at the Ivory Health Center, the Lagos home and complex of FCAAN Courses on the final day of FCAAN E course. He commended the methodology of teaching of FCAAN.
Playing for clubs like Accra hearts of Oaks in Cape coast and been parts of that memorable generation of leventist united were indelible and when you look at my years of coaching experience in countries like Gabon, Benin Republic, Ghana and Nigeria you will say I am a veteran and with pride looking at Eldred Sunju-Abbey, FCAAN’s Global Technical Director, my player some 35-40 years aback and our entire team do meticulous justice and outstanding transfer of knowledge, and I can tell you that my few hours around this E course of FCAAN is refreshing and I can tell you FCAAN is changing the narratives.
We rely greatly on our knowledge as former players and no coaching courses to attend except for few who had opportunity of going abroad but I must commend the President, Dr. Terry Eguaoje, Eldred, leadership and the entire FCAAN family for a made to suit and designed curriculum.
“I will give you my candid opinion, this is changing the narrative and to know a Nigerian is behind it means a better atmosphere is with us and ascendency is very near*.
“I spent few hours here and my knowledge of the beautiful game is refreshed. Nigeria coaches will be better for this.
Ojeikere Ahikoje a renowned and celebrated face and POI on the screen who took part in the F and E certificates courses, also commended FCAAN and was quick to say I am a coach now my depths and compass broadening.
The classes were stimulating and the facilitators were excellent, they made the classes participatory and friendly in adaptation.
” I am the general manager of 360 football club of Lagos and forever craved attending a football coaching course and improve my knowledge of the game, can’t thank FCAAN enough, even overshot my experience and indeed exposed more than I anticipated, I’m wowed pass all imagination and can’t wait to attend the next course as applicable.
He also said coming to FCAAN also changed his perception about Nigerian coaches, I think our administrators need to create enabling environment for them to thrive.
FCAAN is doing a great job I must commend them.
For former NPFL star and the assistant coach of Ottasolo FC, Salaibu Abiodun and others who painted the league Red in there days said the course is amazing and FCAAN is doing a great job.
Three days at the E’ course and we are this loaded and challenged. They said they can’t wait to be a part of the D certificate slated for October.
They commended the Nigerian Football Federation for endorsing FCAAN saying it is not first-time attending courses but said FCAAN stands out.
They all submitted that Nigeria players which is the end results will be better for it.
