Governor Seyi Makinde U-20 Football League: Final Match Set for December 30 in Ibadan

The Oyo State Football Association, led by His Royal Highness Oba (Dr) James Oluyemi Odeniran, in collaboration with Peculiar Ultimate, has announced that the final of the Governor Seyi Makinde (GSM) U-20 Football League will be held on December 30, 2024, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan. The initiative aligns with Governor Makinde’s vision of fostering youth development through sports.

Commending Governor Makinde, Oba Odeniran expressed gratitude for the platform provided to nurture budding football talents. He described the league as a significant achievement in youth empowerment and development, inspired by the Governor’s leadership and commitment to youth-focused initiatives.

The competition has uncovered exceptional talent, with ₦500,000 set as the prize for the winners, ₦300,000 for the runner-up, and ₦200,000 for the third-place team. Additional awards for Best Goalkeeper, Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Referee will also be presented, ensuring a memorable event for all participants.

The third-place match will feature Muhibbat Football Academy (Iseyin) against Ana Football Academy (Ibadan) at 1 PM, while the grand final will see Rehoboth Football Academy (Ibadan) face AFRAS Football Academy (Iseyin) at 3 PM. This annual tournament promises to leave a lasting legacy in Oyo State football.
