LOBI STARS HOLD KANO PILLARS TO A SCORELESS DRAW IN KADUNA

I am not disappointed with the result but unsatisfied with the performance says Eddy Dombraye

True to type as predicted, Lobi Stars sweated to earn one point in the NPFL 2021/2022 matchday 2 encounter against Kano Pillars, decided on Sunday December 26, 2021 inside the main bowl of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna.

Pillars came in to the game with the expectation of carting away the three points at stake. Some how, Lobi Stars came back from the halftime smoking as Eddy Dombraye in his critical reading of the game re-enacted the three changes in one stoppage as he did in Marchday 1 in Makurdi to make way for an improved performance.

Pillars dominated the first half of the game as Umar Hassan, Kabiru Sanusi pressed forward to put Pillars ahead. That not withstanding Ifeanyi Ogba would have put Lobi Stars in the Lead when he almost converted a half chance in the second minute but his half volley couldn’t beat Goalkeeper Bassey Akpan.

Lobi Stars survive the fire power of Pillars as Kokoete Udoh and Abdullahi Musa blew away their goal possibilities in the 4th and 9th minute. All other efforts fall short of capacity to undo the Glory to Glory boys.

The spirit of a victory thirsty club ignited in The pride of Benue when Eddy Dombraye upon resumption shuffled his team as he introduced Ufere Chinedu, Jackson Daniel and Alex Godwin in place of injured Endurance Ebedebiri, Inah Isha and Onuwa Chukwuka.

The pressure that forced Lobi Stars to play in their own half all through the first segment disappeared as the tides turned against The Sai Masu Gida boys. Barnabas Imenger Jnr led attack put the fans on the edges of their seats but unfortunately no goal cameout of the effort.

Saidi Mubarak and Patrick Meze finally took over from Barnabas Imenger Jnr and Chinedu Ogba two minutes in to added time but the scoreless situation persisted till the Centre Referee who showed so much competence and fairness ended the game at 90+5 minutes.

Though with a point in hand at the end of it all, Lobi Stars TA Eddy Dombraye insist that, he was not disappointed with the result but not satisfied with the performance and as such plead for patience from fans as he continue work on the team to ensure a better performance.
