National Sports Festival: Programs to be Restructured to Comply with COVID19 Protocol – Sunday Dare

    The Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare hinted that NSF programs will be altered for COVID19 compliance.

    This was stated in an interview granted by the Minister in Abuja while answering questions being asked he said

    “There is hope for National Sports Festival this year, following the announcement of the Presidential Task Fund (PTF) at the daily COVID19 press briefing.”

    “The brightest signal we got was yesterday when PTF approved the contact sports resumption.”

    The Minister further stated that the COVID19 Protocol is very important hence there will no be audience, fans.

    “However we will follow the COVID19 protocol with no gathering and audience.”

    In addition the Minister further mentioned that the festival will be restructed to accommodate athletes that will participate.

    We will take that green light and we will see how we can restructured the program other than have 5000 athlete competing at the same time we will split the festival into batches.

    A batch comes in , they finish and another batch also comes along and we might also stretch the time to 4 weeks rather than the usual 2 weeks.

    Recall the Minister is in support of the youth involved in peaceful protest with loads of programs for the youth with the recent 75B niara for Nigeria Youth Investment Funds and also reteirated what the President has been doing as regards the youth clamours.

    Dare assured the youth that President has started acting on the youth demands but some demands will take time to manifest.
