The Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ebere Eze turned down the opportunity to be included in Nigeria’s squad for this month’s 2021 AFCON qualifiers with Benin Republic and Lesotho.

Eze has been one of QPR’s best performers this season, scoring six goals and the midfielder has attracted interests from Nigeria’s manager Gernot Rohr.

According to to the online medium sources Rohr spoke with Eze and tried to convince him to switch allegiance from England, the country he represented at U19 level last year.

However he reportedly told the Eagles handler that he required more time “to think about it “, as he’s been assured a place in England U-21 Euro 2021 qualifiers squad.

Eze had previously trained with Super Eagles in 2017 during their training camp in London, with the intention of pledging his allegiance to Nigeria.

But everything went cold after what seemed like mounting pressure from the English FA for the Youngster to delay any decision on his international future.
