Nigeria’s men and women’s beach volleyball team land in Cameroon

Nigeria’s men and women’s beach volleyball teams arrived in Cameroon yesterday ahead of the Camtel International Beach Volleyball Championship holding in Yaoundé.

In the Nigerian men’s team at the championship, which will end tomorrow, are Nigeria Police Force’s player, Obayemi Ogunshina and Nigeria Customs Service star, Simon Hilary.

In the women’s team are Nigeria Customs Service player, Francisca Ikhiede and NSCDC star, Amarachi Kelechukwu.

The team is led by ANOC coach, John Iwerima. Speaking on the championship, Coach Iwerima said the teams were poised to give their best in Cameroun, adding that the tournament would help the country’s preparations for the Beach Volleyball Olympics qualifiers scheduled for Ghana next year.

The coach commended the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod for supporting the players, including the board’s decision to camp the players for a month in Kaduna before the trip to Cameroon.
