It’s a historical moment for the people of Ibadan as Shooting Stars Sporting Club returned to the Nigeria top-flight league, NPFL in a grand style after four years of struggle in the Nigeria Second tier league.
The Oluyole Warriors secured the promotion ticket on the back of a fascinating campaign in the Nigeria National League where they top the SouthWest table to book a place in the NNL Super 8.
3SC would then maintain their superiority as they came out top of the NNL Super8 Group B table with 7 points on the back of an emphatic 6 – 0 victory over Ekiti United to ensure that the Ibadan-based team return to the NPFL.
Recall that 3SC got relegated to the NNL on September 11th, 2017 and they are back in the Nigeria top-flight league following the vital 6 – 0 victory over Ekiti United.
Shooting Stars have now joined the likes of Gombe United, Niger Tornadoes, in the NPFL who have already booked their place in the NPFL from Group A, while we await the match between Remo Stars and Bendel Insurance to determine the last team to be in the NPFL.
Remo Stars need only a draw to scale through while Bendel Insurance needs to beat Remo Stars by 2 – 0 to be in the NPFL. It is going to be a match that will be full of talking points in terms artistry, intrigues, suspense and above all great intensity.
