The Week 19 match between VFC and Osun United earlier scheduled for Saturday June 12, has been shifted to Wednesday June 16 by the Nigerian National League (NNL).
According to the league body a statement issued to all clubs, the move is to enable seamless participation of teams in the AITEO Cup state play-offs.
“Following the request by the Nigerian Football Federation for states to produce their state representatives for the AITEO Cup competition on or before June 14, 2021, it has become imperative to shift all Northern Conference A1 Week 19, A2 Week 15; Southern Conference B1 Week 19 and B2 Week 22 to Wednesday June 16, 2021.
This is to allow clubs participating in their state AITEO Cup play-offs to do so without hitches” said the statement signed by COO Emmanuel Adesanya.
Meanwhile, no new date has been announced by the NNL for the rescheduled Week 17 tie between VFC and Rovers.
