Ondo state wrestling coach Purity Aku says plans have been concluded by his team to boycott the upcoming 2020 national sports festival in Benin Edo state capital over what he described as unprofesional way of handling athletes by the management of the Ondo state sports council.
The wrestling coach further lamented poor preparation,
encouragement by some stakeholders in Ondo state.
He further lamented the lack of motivation by the state government comparing to the treatment accorded other athletes like Ese Brume from Delta state.
The national coach said he will publicly relate with the state sports administrator to pay attention to other sports ahead of the national championship and exclude wrestling
Speaking ahead of the Olympic coach Aku said personal efforts have been put in place to take some of the athletes which include Odunayo Adekuoroye and Aminat Adeniyi to some European countries for tournament.
When asked of his target in Tokyo Aku said they are targeting a podium finish.
