Best Talent FC of Mowe delivered a masterclass performance in their pre-season preparations, overwhelming PRO Soccer Academy 6-1 in Lagos. The match showcased the exceptional talent of 17-year-old Basuaye, who stole the show with an impressive four-goal haul, finding the net at the 29th, 43rd, 75th, and 86th minutes. Additional goals from Olabayo and Abubakry at 51 and 62 minutes respectively rounded out the commanding victory.
Under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Babatunde Farouk Yusuf, Best Talent FC has shown remarkable form, losing just one game in their six pre-season matches. The experienced grassroots tactician, whose previous success includes stints with Magate FC, Fackson Tofido, and Coca-Cola Junior school, has quickly established an impressive winning mentality within the squad.
The victory highlighted Best Talent FC’s readiness for the upcoming 2024/2025 Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO1) season, with Coach Farouk particularly impressed by his team’s tactical discipline. “I like to give a big kudos to my players and the entire crew for doing a wonderful job today,” he praised. “They all played well and stick to instructions. The tactical inputs were internalized and reflected in the results.”
The coach also acknowledged the crucial support from club chairman Mr. Adeyinka Adeyemo and the management team: “My Chairman is a man of many parts and influence, ditto the entire Management team, medical, media are all supporting in making this happen. Football is all about team work… We are still building this team and once it reaches the taste we desire, victory will be more evident.”
