IMO State Commisioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Dan Chike Ogu has commiserated with Heartland FC of OWERRI on the 27th anniversary of the tragic crash which claimed the lives of five people two of whom (Uche Ikeogu and Omale) were players of Iwuanyanwu Nationale.
“18th September is a sad day for all of us , a day some of our promising youths paid the supreme sacrifice”
The Commissioner lamented the years of neglect for the families of the deceased and vowed that the Government of Senator Hope Uzodinma will change the narrative by honouring the memory of the five that perished.
“It is very sad that despite the sacrifices made by the five that died , they seem to have been forgotten but today i assure you that Senator Hope Uzodinma will change the narrative”
Ogu also extolled the magnanimity and Patriotism of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu whom he described as a great leader who had invested a lot to the development and upliftment of youths In Imo and the nation at large.
