It was a more busy but interesting day on Thursday as we continue our preparations for the incoming season.
The number of players on day two of the training session, which took place inside the mainbowl of the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, increased and the exercise was more competitive than the opening day of the training.
The players were fully and activitely involved in different sections of the exercise under the watchful eyes of the Technical Adviser Gbenga Ogunbote and his assistants.
We Battle Vandrezzer in Value Jet Cup opener
In continuation of the build up to the season, we begin our campaign in the maiden edition of the Value Jet Cup Pre season Tournamemt with a clash against Vandrezzer FC.
Lumped in Group A of the tourney, alongside fellow NPFL sides, Plateau United and host Remo Stars, as well as the NNL duo of Vandrezzer and Ijebu-United, we aim at emerging winner of the tourney but more importantly to use it as an avenue to build a solid squad for the incoming season.
For The Records
This is the third time we are meeting Vandrezzer FC.
While this third meeting is a pre season tourney, the two previous clashes were in competitive league games, precisely during the NNL 2019/20 season.
We emerged victorious on the two occasions, 2-0 in Ijebu-Ode, our adopted home ground then, in the first round, and 1-0 in the return leg played at the Agege Township Stadium.
For Friday’s face off, which is slated to kick off at 8.00am, we go for another victory to prove our superiority over Vandrezzer FC.
