Uzoho Out For Six Months

Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering anterior ligament injury in Sunday’s friendly against Brazil, Goal Intense can report.

Uzoho picked up the injury in the 62nd minute of the game after landing badly in his attempt to save a goal-bound cross.

The 20-year-old was eventually replaced by debutant Maduka Okoye after a brief delay.

Uzoho , according to reports in Cyprus where he plays for Omonia Nicosia, could be out for up to six months as a result of the setback.

He will now miss Nigeria’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualfifying fixtures against Benin and Lesotho next month.

He has made five appearances and kept three clean sheets this season for Omonia Nicosia who occupy second position in the Cypriot First Division.
