The People’s Elephants scrapped through a 1-0 win over Umuahia Warriors to start the 2020/21 season on a positive note in Aba.
Enyimba had been defeated 3-0 by El Merreikh last week in the CAF Champions League and Kayode was pleased that Enyimba got back on track.
Samad Kadiri scored from the penalty spot for Enyimba as they won 1-0 in the Abia Derby.
“When you come off a defeat like the one against El Merreikh it is important to play again quickly and win,” Kayode told Futbalgalore.com.ng.
“We were all angry after the performance against El Merreikh.
“We made some mistakes, but it was essential to win again.
“Personally I am happy with our start to the NPFL season. We can continue to win as the season goes on.”
