Inter-Lagos FC Head Coach Gabriel Ezema has highlighted the difficulties of managing a team in second-tier leagues like the Nigeria National League (NNL). Speaking on the “Super Interview” show, Ezema highlighted the financial constraints, diverse player skill levels, and intense competition that make these leagues among the toughest worldwide.

Ezema noted that the abridged league format intensifies the challenges, forcing every team to fight for survival and promotion. The relentless pace and limited games mean every match carries high stakes, testing players and coaches. He compared the NNL to England’s Championship, underlining their shared reputation for difficulty and unpredictability.

The experienced coach, who previously worked with Rangers International FC, emphasized that financial instability compounds the struggle, as clubs often operate with limited resources. These conditions demand resilience and adaptability from teams aiming to achieve promotion to the Premier League.

The Nigeria National League is set to resume in January 2025 after the yuletide break, promising another gruelling season for clubs striving for success amidst the league’s unique challenges.
