Executive Chairman of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, believes the vociferous support from the stands will ginger the Oluyole Warriors to victory over the visiting Gombe United on Sunday
The Ibadan soccer lords, will trade tackles with the Savannah Scorpions in a Matchday three fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), slated for the Lekan Salami Stadium.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Honourable Olaniyan, who praised the teeming supporters and fans for cheering the team to a 2-1 win over Plateau United on Matchday one, charged them to turn out enmass for Sunday’s match.
“We are very grateful to the supporters and fans for their support when we hosted Plateau United on Matchday one, their presence and the cheers from the stands really helped us to come out victorious.
“Come Sunday, we expect nothing less, we look forward to getting more than what they gave us in the first game because that is the tonic needed by the boys to get the job done”, stated the former deputy speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly.
Honourable Olaniyan, assured the fans, that their gesture will be paid back with victory, stressing that the team has been well motivated to take the visitors to the cleaners.
The 3SC boss, who hinted that the technical crew and the players have put last weekend’s 0-2 loss to Bendel Insurance behind them and were already looking forward to a triumphant outing on Sunday, appealed to the fans to maintain decorum, before, during and after the encounter.
