Edo State Para Table Tennis Athletes won 4 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medal and 1 Bronze Medal at the just concluded maiden Valuejet Para Table Tennis Open Championship which ended at the weekend in Lagos.
The three-day tournament also attracted players from host – Nigeria, South Africa, Algeria, Morocco, Togo, Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire with 44 titles at stake at the N10.8m prize money tournament.
Every players from Edo wore the Nigeria colours to represent the country, at the ITTF competition

Beauty Osareme – Gold
Faith Obazueye – 2 Gold
David Omoragbon – Silver
Endurance Obuvu – Silver
Blessing Otutu – Bronze
Total Medals 4 Gold, 2 Silver, 1 bronze
Meanwhile, most of our players have been classified to higher level, thus we requiring more players in these class to feature at the up coming national sports festival.
Unfortunately Edo State lost one of these Gold Medals which was already won by Faith Obazuaye as the organisers cancelled it because Edo State entries was below or not acceptable number by the ITTF Rule in the Women team event.
The tournament was put together by Sunday Odebode Foundation in collaboration with NTTF while it was bankrolled by Valuejet Airline.
