IN A STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT OF JIFORM, AJIBOLA ABAYOMI AND ENDORSED BY THE FORUM’S SOUTHERN NIGERIA COORDINATOR, DR. BABATUNDE TIAMIYU, EXPRESSED SADNESS OVER THE TURNOUT OF EVENT IN NIGERIA FOLLOWING THE MURDER OF SEVERAL PROTESTERS, BURNING OF POLICE STATIONS AND SERIES OF MAIMING OF SOME POLICE OFFICERS AS FALL OUTS OF PEACEFUL PROTEST EMBARKED UPON BY THE YOUTHS JIFORM WHILE CONDEMNING THE INFILTRATION OF THE PROTEST BY UNPATRIOTIC POLITICAL ELEMENTS AND SOME CRIMINAL ELEMENTS HOWEVER EMPHASIZED THAT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IS SUPREME AND THE GOVERNMENT MUST ACT FAST TO PREVENT THE TENSION FROM GETTING OUT OF HAND.
THE LEADERSHIP OF JIFORM CALLED ON THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO EMBRACE DIALOGUE AS THE ONLY WAY FORWARD AND URGED PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI TO ADDRESS THE GROWING CONCERNS AND HEAVY BURDENS BEING LOADED ON NIGERIANS, DESCRIBING SUCH AS DIRECT DRIVERS OF IRREGULAR MIGRATION.
THE BODY ENJOINED NIGERIANS TO EMBRACE PEACE AS THE ONLY RECIPE THAT CAN GUARANTEE PROSPERITY AND REALIZATION OF HUMAN ASPIRATIONS.
