Mailantariki Care Football Club of Abuja Chairman Hon. Mailantariki believes that the U23 Nigeria team will still qualify for the U23 AFCON Cup that will hold in morocco later this year.
This was stated by the politician cum football administrator just after the team played a draw at the MKO Abiola International Stadium on Wednesday,
“I still have confidence in the team though we had a bad game today but I think the coaches need do some little changes and train well together, I believe they will surely have victory in the return leg. “
While the Honorable responding to questions about how he felt after his team won the FA cup finals in Abuja, He said :
“We thank God for the victory. This is something that came exactly the day we are participating in the Gubernatorial election in Gombe under the NNPP platform, though we won too, another contender won the election.”
“I want to thank the entire management and the backroom staff for staying strong and handling the team while I was away. The boys won the FA cup in Abuja, that victory means a lot to me because it came the day I was expecting victory for myself and the entire people of the Gombe state, FCT, and Nigeria at large. The FA cup means a lot to me as it really put me in very good shape to even do better because the boys played very well and got a victory that day.”
Mailantariki FC has participated in so many competitions and we almost won everything including the FA cup which is the major Cup we have won so far this year. I can assure you that we won’t disappoint FCT and we will have a good representation of ourselves and the entire FCT.
