Nigeria’s table tennis star, Olajide Omotayo has assured his compatriots that he make it the podium at the Tokyo Olympics next year.

Olajide gave this assurance while featuring on BCOS TV Sports Programme ‘Weekend Sports’ anchored by Tosin Sanya and produced by Adewale Tijani.

The table tennis player revealed that he is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to win medals at the Olympics next year.

‘I am training hard and in splendid form. With supports of Nigerian officials I hope to win medals for Nigeria in Tokyo”, the Italy based ping pong player said.

Omotayo, popularly called ‘Jay Fire’ by fans, is the only Nigerian male table tennis player to have so far qualified for the Tokyo Olympics alongside Funke Oshonaike and Edem Offiong.

Hopefully, Nigeria’s table tennis team to Tokyo Olympics could swell as the country’s most ranked male player Aruna Quadri is likely to join the Olympic train by virtue of his present rankings.
