Pupils and students have been enjoined to make education a priority as it is a ladder to greatness in life.
This disclosure was made by the Parmanent Secretary Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Oludele Oyadeyi at the Essay writing and Debate competitions held at the conference room of the Oyo state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
According to Mr Oyadeyi the competition was organized to enhance their reading culture, sharpen their writing skills and build their confidence in the act of public speaking.
In her remarks, the Parmanent Secretary Ministry of Education Science and Technology Mrs. Aminat Atere stressed that the pupils and students must imbibe the spirit of sportmanship in this competition since it is aimed at making them better students.
At the end of the essay competition Mary Alexandra from Ibadan zone 3 came first, Shinwar Jude from Oyo zone and Adediran Deborah from Ibadan zone 1 came 2nd and 3rd respectively for the primary category. While students from Oyo zone, Ibadan zone 1 and Ogbomosho zone 2 took away the best 3 positions in the debate.
His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde will award the winners cash and gifts at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex Adamasingba on first October 2021, Independence Day.
