Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Oyo state chapter has again called on members of the public to be mindful of some unscrupulous elements parading themselves as SWAN members in the state.
Chairman of the Association in Oyo state, Comrade Olaolu Fawole made this known while speaking with newsmen on Table Tennis tournament purportedly organised by a group of Impersonators led by one Niyi Alebiosu of Nigerian Tribune who has been defrauding and misinforming unsuspecting Nigerians in recent time.
Fawole said SWAN will never stop anybody from organising any activity but frowned at hungry Nigerians trying to soil the name of the association.
He urged the public to discountenance all information on the relevance seeking individuals noting that security agencies had again been alerted on the development.
Fawole maintained that Niyi Alebiosu had ceased to be a member of SWAN since October, 2018. ” it is so unfortunate that Alebiosu, despite his age, could still be impersonating SWAN Chairman in Oyo state after he detached himself from SWAN due to his arrogance and half-witted thinkings” Fawole added
“Oyo SWAN is not organising any Table Tennis Tournament for members of the public or for Sports Journalists and we deem it fit to intimate the public on this ugly incident”
Alebiosu was detained at the state CID in December, 2018 over his nefarious activities and failed to yield to the advice from the state CID, Iyaganku, to seek redress in court and stop exercising any authority as Oyo SWAN Chairman.
Fawole warned Alebiosu and his other cohorts to refrain from the criminal act before nemesis catches up with them in no small time
