The clock is ticking, The NPFL 2020/2021 is left with only 270 minutes of regulation time action, some clubs are already rolling out celebration drums while others are rueing their possible drop down The NNL and some are doing the battle of their lives to finish in the top three places on the log.

Lobi Stars will on Wednesday July 28, 2021 file out against a desperately anxious Enyimba International at The Aper Aku Stadium Makurdi in an NPFL 2020/2021 Matchday 36. The visitors who are fighting with every available weapon to remain in the continent but unfortunately the most disadvantaged of the first four clubs given available statistics seem to be in Makurdi to stake their lives for the game as nothing short of the three points at stake will still allow them a contention life line.

More unfortunate for The People’s Elephant is the fact that they are playing against an opposition that is extremely difficult to undo at home, having secured full home points since Matchday 11, more difficult for Enyimba is the fearful new found form of the Glory to Glory boys that have kept them undefeated for the last four NPFL games.

Lobi Stars are currently placed 8th on the league table with 54 points from 35 games without a continental slot in view but certainly with no worries, averaging 1.54 points per game, while Enyimba are chasing a continental ticket with a 4th place on the table with 61 points in 35 games averaging 1.74 per game, just a marginal line out of the continental bracket for now.

On current form both Lobi Stars and Enyimba had fared well recently, the home struggle of the Aba Elephants not withstanding. Lobi Stars won 2 drew 2 and lost 1 out the the last 5 games, with 8 points best of 15, while Enyimba Int’l won 3, drew 1 and lost 1, remarkably earning 10 points best of 15.

In as much as Lobi Stars stakes in The NPFL 2020/2021 are now low, nothing short of finishing with an uniterrupted home wins will be tolerated as professionalism and reputation are at stake. Enyimba seem to be facing an unfortunate situation in Makurdi as Lobi Stars are showing no mercy to the title contenders as all have fallen at the Aper Aku Stadium making Makurdi a bad ground for title chasers.

Enyimba triumphed 2-1 in Aba when Lobi Stars went visiting to honor the outstanding fixture with goals from Victor Mbaoma and Farouk Mohammed with the consolation goal from Lobi Stars Ossy Martins from a Penalty Kick.

Lobi Stars players met and surpassed the ultimatum given to them by the management and will undoubtedly be out for another exciting performance on Wednesday July 28, 2021.
