All arrangements towards conducting credible elections into the membership and chairmanship positions of the Osun State Football Association have been concluded.
The election of the new chairman and nine Board Members will hold in the NUT Hall, Oshogbo on Monday morning.
The two contestants into the chairmanship position of the State Football Association – Chief Mustapha Rasaq and Prince Ademola Bamidele are have served two terms as members
Meanwhile, the former chairman, Osun State Football Referees’ Council- Mr. Olu Aniseere expressed optimism in the ability of the Ajiroba Ooni of Ife – Chief Rasaq Mustapha to give football an all round developmment if given the mandate
Mr Olu Aniseere said the experience of Chief Mustapha Rasaq as one time Special Adviser to Osun State Government on Youths and Sports developmment and Commitment to football development in the state will contribute immensely to his ability to move football to a higher level in Osun State
Speaking on the strategies to develop the round leather game in the state, the Ajiroba Ooni of Ife said his agenda will include – development of grassroots. Football through seminars and workshops for grassroot football coaches and Youth League to actualize the catch them young policy of the state government. In addition to this, the United Kingdom trained lawyer turned football administrator, he said he will make efforts to make women football to be more attractive and scout for full sponsorship for the State Football Association Cup.
While appealing to the congress members to elect him as the new chairman, Osun State Football Association ,Barrister Rasak Mustapha assured the stake holders in the football promotion that they will be involved in decision making process
