CAFCC: Enyimba Int’l Bundled Out Of Caf Confederations Cup

For a second consecutive seasons, Nigerians sole representative Enyimba international have failed to go past the last eight of the CAF Confederation Cup after their hopes of overturning a 4-1 deficit was dashed on Sunday afternoon as they were held to a 1-1 by visiting FC Pyramids with the Egyptians progressing 5-2 on aggregate.

Their silm hopes of overturning the 4-1 deficit from the first leg last week was thrown in the mud as the visitors added salt on the wounds of the Nigerians as Adel Ibrahim fired the Egyptians ahead inside opening 12th minute.

After mounting pressure dominating possession with amazing performance and dangerous attacking threats, their efforts was rewarded in the 40th minute as Super Eagles winger Anayo Iwuala leveled the scoreline.

The peoples Elephant came out smoking in the second half controlling the game but they were unable to breakdown the well organised Egyptians defense.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw with huge disappointment for the Nigerians as Pyramids progressed 5-2 on aggregate which automatically sent the Nigerians representative at the quarterfinals in this CAF Confederation Cup.
