Nigeria’s Women Under 18 Handball Team Arrive Tunisia For Africa Women’s Youth Handball Championship.

Nigeria’s women under 18 handball team have arrived Monastir, Tunisia ahead of the 19th Africa Women’s Youth Handball Championship which will commence on Saturday.

 

The team tutored by Coach Shittu Adewunmi Agboola and his assistant Coach Opuene Roberts, left the shores of the country on Thursday morning from the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and landed on Friday morning in Tunis-Carthage International Airport, Tunis before traveling via bus to Monastir where the competition will hold.

 

The Nigeria delegation is led by the Secretary General of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Mr. Almu Umar Lambu.

 

The team had been in close camping at the Rowe Park Sports Center in Yaba Lagos and had played four friendly matches against Tojemarine Academy Under 17 Boys team and ASPAC HBC of Benin Republic. They played their last friendly match against friendly match against the top Benin Republic club which they won 27-21.

 

Nigeria is in group A with two times champion and host, Tunisia, Algeria and Guinea.

 

They will play their first match against Algeria on Saturday at 2pm.
