Oyo State Sports administrators have been meddling with there athletes and I hope the state don’t get to loose them to other State as the athletes protest over poor welfare.
For more than two months there has been no provision for camping, allowances, even athlete comes from house and also feed on their own just for the passion.
This same scenario happened during the preparations of the Southwest Qualifiers at Lagos where the state found it difficult to cater for her athletes during camping and even at the competition proper.
The pace setter state has always been at the forefront during national competitions and they even do say that sports originated from the state with the way it produces great sports men and women who made the nation proud at that time.
However, the story has changed with the quality of hands that has been saddled with the administration of sports in the state.
How will the Head of Sport commission not know the correct state of his athletes, mentally, emotionally and physically? Too bad!
There was no public address from the commissioner of Sports and Youth Development on non payment of awards prize after the Unity torch departed Ibadan.
It’s important we know that the welfare of your employees {athletes} is very important for you to get the best out of them.
The national sports festival is 6days from now and if we want Oyo State team to get something significant from the championship I believe you better get your ass together and set a standard welfare package for the athletes.
