Sunshine Stars FC of Akure striker, Suleiman Mohammed has said that he is not threatened by competition for a place in the striking role at the club but that he is more interested in good results for his team.

Mohammed said the goal and determination of the team is all about grinding out good results week in week out.

“If it is not me playing today and it’s another person, I will give my support because it is all about the team and not individuals.

“As long as the team is up there, I am good because we must play together to be on the continent next season.

“Instead of me playing and not scoring, it is better I take a rest and give way for another person to lift the team” Mohammed remarked.

As the club intensify preparations for Matchday 14, Mohammed believes the team is going to Bauchi to pick at least a point or the maximum points against Wikki Tourists, and premised his optimism on Bauchi being a familiar terrain for them.

He urged the fans to keep supporting the team genuinely so that the team can achieve greatness this season.

The muscular and power-playing young striker scored Sunshine Stars’ opening goal on Wednesday in Akure on Matchday 13 against Jigawa Golden Stars.

He put up a man of the match performance in the game and was a delight to watch all through the encounter running down the opposition’s defenders.

The Wednesday”s result means Sunshine Stars moved from the 9th to 7th position on the log having picked 19 points from 13 games so far.

They are away to Wikki Tourists of Bauchi this Sunday.
