Nigeria National League Side, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, ABS FC have signed a new deal with newly formed Sports Academy in Kwara State to get their players exposed and developed.


The partnership which has already yield good result as a player of the Academy debuted for the Saraki Boys in their 2-0 victory over Adamawa United over the weekend.

Chairman of Forum for Sports Directors, Mallam Tunde Kazeem appreciated the organizers and the founder of La Planet Sport Academica, Mr Shogo Shodunnke for the initiative hoping the academy would bring success soon. He also urged clubs to expose the players of the academy while assuring Mr Shogo that the Kwara State Sports Council would give him total support in developing sports in the state.Director of La Planet Academia, Shodunnke explained how La Planet Sport Academica came into existence and reasons for partnering with ABS FC of Ilorin.“LA is a French and Spanish and word for “THE” and when a player is exceptional, we always have the belief that he’s from another planet, that is where the name “LA PLANET” is derived.“In most Africa countries, what we have is football academy but the aim of this project is beyond football and that’s the reason behind the name “Sport Academia”.Shogo who is a product of FIFA University Network and also the brain behind an offseason football tournament, Amateur and Professional Football Championship, AMAPRO that focuses on hastening the transition of amateur footballers to become professionals, revealed the academy has secured sponsors, partners and interests from foreign club and firms.“We have received interest from abroad and we believe in the next six years, we would have players playing in the UEFA Champions League.”He added that the purpose ABS FC is being chosen for this partnership was because the club is one of the best clubs in Nigeria that encourages young and exceptional players and consistently guiding them for proper development.“Football is beyond the monetary aspect of it, raising legends, breadwinners, hoping the hopeless and helping the helpless through sports are the aim of our academy and we would continue to contribute to the development of people and individuals who are gifted in sports.Director of Football, ABS FC, Alloy Chuckwwuemeka in his reaction, acknowledged the LA Planet Sport Academia for producing talented youngster such as Jamiu Lasoju who was debuted with ABS FC over the weekend.“La Planet is an academy that produces young players and ABS believes in young players. Football is all about talent and that is the aim of the club – to scout the talented ones and put them on the right platform.Alloy who also doubles as the Secretary of Club Owners Association disclosed that ABS FC signed a contract with academies in other to expose their best legs at the professional level.“We sign contract with various academies to take their best players and expose them to league football. ABS believes in producing talents and that made us believe the academy can provide players for the national teams and various Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL clubs in the next decade.”The event was graced by special sports personalities in Kwara State which includes, The Director of Sport Kwara State Sports Council, Coach Tunde Kazeem, Director of Football,  ABS FC, Alloy Chuckwuemeka, Mr Bayour Issa of Sportspro International, Media men among other top dignitaries present in the occasion.
