We made a mistake and we paid for it heavily – Kennedy Boboye

Ambitious Akwa United made a mistake at the tail end of the most anticipated cracker of the day as they conceded a goal after they had a good run in a 1-1 draw against Lobi Stars.

The first goal for the team came at 20 minutes which comes from a free-kick as Ndifreke Effiong whips a brilliant effort beyond Emmanuel Daniel, with many efforts to make two nill prove abortive before Austine Ogunye gave Lobi Stars the equalizing goal with a rebound at the 81st minutes.

“It was not a bad game we made a mistake and we paid for it heavily. We maintained our line up because we wanted them to play together and gel well though we have other players as well which we will have their playing time as well.”

“We will be ready for the game against Rivers United FC which is our third game and I have told my players what to expect at this competition because I know it will be a tough one and we have to be ready for it.”

Akwa United will be playing against the host team Rivers FC on Monday.
